SCR participated in the RESER 2009 Conference.
“"PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SERVICES IN THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMY" was the theme for the XIX International RESER 2009 Conference. The conference was organised in Budapest, Hungary, 24th-26th September by Kopint-Tárki Institute for Economic Research Ltd. RESER is an interdisciplinary European network focusing on the topic of service research. The RESER conference has become the annual platform and meeting place for researchers and policy makers in the field of services. During the three intensive conference days the papers explored the following main themes: services trajectories in transition economies, international trade, FDI and global sourcing of services, innovation in services, service entrepreneurship and innovation, the role of services under the circumstances of the world financial crisis.
The keynote lecturer of the conference was Prof. Peter W. Daniels, the winner of the RESER Award 2009. The panellists of the round table included: Norman Rose (Chairman of the European Business Services Round Table), Domenico Rossetti (European Commission), Ronald Mackay (European Commission), Walter Ganz (Frauenhofer Institute), Luis Rubalcaba (ServPPIN coordinator) and Tivadar Lippényi (Vice President of the Hungarian National Office for Research and Technology). Lappeenranta University of Technology/SC-Research participated in the RESER 2009 conference by presenting a paper: Yli-Viitala Pirjo & Kuusisto Jari: Locus of service innovation in developing outsourced industrial services.
