Arja Kuusisto, Jari Kuusisto, Juha Vänskä and Pirjo Yli-Viitala from SC-Research/Lappeenranta University of Technology visited to Amsterdam Business School on 15th of November 2010. In Amsterdam, SC-Research organised a joint research workshop together with Amsterdam Centre for Service Innovation (AMSI). AMSI is a research group that is focusing on research and education in “management of innovation in service firms and service organizations”. The Centre is established at the end of 2008 by a joint effort of Amsterdam Business School / University of Amsterdam, VU University and Novay. AMSI is further supported by founding corporate partners Air France KLM, IBM Benelux, Rabobank and Amsterdam City.
The research workshop was hosted by Dr. Wietze van der Aa (Director AMSI), Dr. Pim den Hertog (Research Coordinator AMSI) and Dr. Carolien de Blok (Postdoc Researcher AMSI). The meeting was started with introduction by both the organisations (Wietze van der Aa, Jari Kuusisto). Next Pirjo Yli-Viitala and Juha Vänskä presented and got comments on their research plans. That was followed by the presentations and discussion on service modularity by Carolien de Blok, on dynamic service innovation capabilities by Pim den Hertog, and on business models by Wietze van der Aa. The programme of the research workshop allowed the two research groups to get to know each other better, and moreover to discuss about future co-operation.
